At Beca, we believe in working alongside our clients, to co-create impactful solutions to tackle climate challenges together.

Successfully activating climate adaptation projects takes a large volume of pragmatic building blocks to enable the initiative from early scoping to delivery and well into the future.

Particularly key to climate adaptation implementation is the ability to tap into funding and financing as often the most transformational adaptation projects are also a significant cost (especially at the outset).

Beca’s experts have trans-Oceania experience of supporting adaptation with practical services from policy development, project scoping, feasibility studies, investment business cases, community and stakeholder engagement, cost/benefit analyses and more.

In and for the Pacific

We’re a Pacific-based, employee-owned consultancy firm, dedicated to strong relationships across Oceania. With access to over 4,000 Beca Group experts, for nearly 40 years, we've partnered with funders like ADB and the World Bank, building an excellent understanding of the various funder requirements.

Beca has the ability to provide end-to-end services such as funding proposals and concept notes through to project scoping, technical assessment design and construction as well as monitoring and evaluation.

Our climate resilience work is grounded in how to enable practical implementation so that adaptation is not ‘shelved’ and climate action is readily achieved. For example, in our work in the Republic of Marshall Islands, we developed adaptation pathways that have informed the National Adaptation Plan and included a number of short-term, community-led options that are small scale, locally based and grass roots driven.

The locally led initiatives such as community-based fisheries management, community seed banks, living shorelines and drought/heat resistant crops are low cost, able to predominantly utilise local resources and are low technical complexity to implement and maintain.

End to End Practical Adaptation Services

Too often, development projects are short-term and transactional. At Beca, we do things differently - we invest in long-term partnerships that build local capacity, support local businesses, and ensure benefits endure well after project delivery is complete.

In many Pacific Island nations especially, climate change is not a distant threat but a daily reality. Our commitment is to walk alongside these communities - delivering practical solutions today, while building resilience for generations to come.

Where others see abstraction or complexity, Beca delivers real-world solutions - turning climate adaptation theory into action on the ground.
