Bringing adaptation theory to life

At Beca, we transform climate adaptation theory into real-world solutions that deliver measurable impact across the Asia Pacific. With over 105 years’ experience in engineering and design, our teams blend deep technical expertise with practical know-how to bridge the gap between strategy and implementation.

We believe effective adaptation is more than just concepts or models - it’s about designing and delivering robust infrastructure and systems that withstand changing climates.

Theory made real

Our engineers work on the ground, engaging directly with communities to fully understand their unique challenges.

Whether it’s rising sea levels threatening homes in the Pacific Islands, droughts straining water supplies in Australia, or increasingly severe weather impacting New Zealand’s critical infrastructure - we look beyond what might be lost or damaged, to understand why these losses matter so deeply.

Together, we’re building pathways to thrive in an uncertain future.

Partnering to deliver

Too oftendevelopment projects are short-term and transactional. At Beca, we do things differently - we invest in long-term partnerships that build local capacity, support local businesses, and ensure benefits endure well after project delivery is complete.

In many Pacific Island nations especially, climate change is not a distant threat but a daily reality. Our commitment is to walk alongside these communities - delivering practical solutions today, while building resilience for generations to come.

Where others see abstraction or complexity, Beca delivers real-world solutions - turning climate adaptation theory into action on the ground.

Compelling theory, made real

Manukorihi Hapū, in Taranaki, has plans and aspirations to develop a more resilient and world-class marae, which are well underway.

The restoration of a section of the Tangaroa awa (stream) and its wairua (spirit) that nourishes this community, has been a seed that has catalysed and fed into this holistic development.

Bespoke. Practical

Every location has its own mix of vulnerabilities and strengths. That’s why our engineering solutions are never one-size-fits-all - they’re tailored to local context: from safeguarding cultural sites and supporting livelihoods, to strengthening public health and future-proofing essential assets.

For us, climate adaptation means moving beyond reports or plans. We deliver evidence-based solutions that deliver lasting impact and results.
