For more than five decades, Beca has worked alongside Pacific communities, governments, businesses and international development partners to help shape a more resilient and connected future. This includes delivering sustainable development programmes and infrastructure that makes everyday better for people. We aim to leave behind capability, not dependency.
Trusted engineering & advisory partners for Pacific Development
We’re passionate about making a difference, delivering projects in a way that’s appropriate to the Pacific and local communities.
Respecting local culture, legislation, design standards, environmental risks and constraints, political systems, financial status and development objectives all need to be considered holistically for a project to be successful. Our experienced people understand this.
We recognise that success is based on creating a shared legacy. Our approach is to invest in local communities, localising our team where possible, nurturing long-term partnerships and sharing knowledge and skills to enable communities to build their own capacity and solutions for future generations.
With an Asia Pacific focus, our geographic footprint and diverse skillset enables our team of specialists to provide innovative and integrated technical solutions that build lasting change. Our clients which include development banks, aid agencies and local governments trust us to successfully deliver for them and their projects.
Who we work with
Our story in the Pacific is not defined by projects alone. It is defined by enduring partnerships, local relationships and a shared commitment to helping Pacific communities thrive. We partner with governments, development agencies, utilities, local organisations and communities to deliver infrastructure that is practical, resilient and locally appropriate. Our work spans water, transport, social infrastructure, climate resilience and rural development.
Regional experience, local understanding
Every Pacific nation is unique. That's why we take the time to build partnerships with local organisations to understand the nuances, cultures, priorities, challenges and aspirations of each community where we operate. For over 50 years, we've worked alongside Pacific communities, governments and development partners to deliver programmes and infrastructure that strengthen resilience and develop the local capability that supports long-term prosperity and makes a lasting difference.
A recognised partner for ADB and World Bank-funded projects
Beca has been selected for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and World Bank (WB) Detailed Engineering Design and Construction Supervision Roster for Pacific Developing Member Countries. This roster provides Pacific executing and implementing agencies with a recognised pathway to access our multidisciplinary capability for project-specific procurement processes.
Beca was ranked #1 in the water and social infrastructure sectors, and #3 in transport, highlighting our proven experience across the infrastructure systems that support resilient, connected and thriving Pacific communities.
What does this mean for you?
- The roster is a group of consultants (like us!) who have been rigorously evaluated by ADB and WB and recognised for delivering high-quality services across the Pacific.
- As an implementing or executing agency, you can now use this panel and choose your preferred procurement method - meaning less time, less hassle, and more flexibility.
- It’s a fast-tracked option for all parties, helping projects move through procurement more smoothly!
Beca Pasifika Network
The Beca Pasifika Network is a Pasifika-led community built on three pillars: Connection, Community and Collaboration. We create space where Pasifika people can connect, belong and thrive while celebrating the cultures, values and identities that unite us. Through partnerships with Pasifika-focused organisations, initiatives and businesses, we support opportunities that extend beyond Beca and contribute to the success of our communities.
The network also helps strengthens the projects that we deliver across the Pacific by drawing on the cultural knowledge, lived experiences and relationships of our members, helping us build trusted partnerships and create meaningful outcomes for the communities we serve. Senior Structural Engineer Karina Kaufusi chairs the group. In her own words:
“I remember starting here as a grad. In those first few years, there were not many people who looked like me, and I struggled to connect and find my place in this big organisation. I’m still here because, over time I found support and realised that I could bring my whole self to work and be proud of my Pasifika heritage.”

Our Pacific presence
Mālō e lelei, Talofa lava, Taloha ni, Kia orana, Fakaalofa lahi atu, Namaste, Ni sa bula and warm Pacific Greetings!
From the crystal clear waters of the Cook Islands to the highlands of Papua New Guinea, Beca has a presence on the ground across the islands of the Pacific.
It all began with the opening of our first Pacific office in Papua New Guinea in 1970 and has since grown into 9 regional hubs - many staffed by locals.
This means our team is directly connected to the communities we serve and the partners we work with; bringing these important projects and initiatives to life whilst building local capacity in the process.
Our people who work on the ground across the Pacific are supported by the broader 4,300+ specialists of Beca Group, who can bring their skills and experience to multidisciplinary projects - from repairing a local bridge to developing a national environmental policy.
Building capacity through staff secondments
One of the ways we support capacity building across the region is through seconding our staff directly to projects in the Pacific. Secondments are not only a great career development opportunity for our people, it also gives them the invaluable experience of working directly with local partners on the ground where knowledge and experience can be exchanged - making everyday better for all.
