Gold Coast Airport Taxiway Link

Beca designed the Taxiway Charlie Link expansion at Gold Coast Airport to support this region's growth, working airside and within the constraints of an active airport to deliver increased operational efficiency. Our role included civil and pavement design, drainage and airfield infrastructure planning, and saw us collaborate closely with the airport and construction partners to maintain safe operations throughout the works.

Pacific Highway Expansion

Our innovative road design helped widen a logistically challenging stretch of the Pacific Highway to enable faster, safer commutes between Queensland and New South Wales. To tackle an environmentally sensitive region with very soft ground conditions, we brought together a specialist team of geotechnical, structural and road engineers to design for these risks while complying with stringent environmental regulations and the tight project timeframe.

QLD and NSW Power Transmission

We're upgrading the Queensland-New South Wales Interconnector (QNI) to improve power reliability and transfer capacity between QLD and NSW. This includes designing the engineering requirements to enhance the electricity transfer capacity of three 330 kv transmission lines. Our engineers have contributed to system studies, civil and structural design, and project management support across several high-voltage lines, using digital models to coordinate activities across multiple sites.

Gatton Solar Research Facility

Beca worked with First Solar on a 3 MW solar farm at Gatton in regional Queensland that also functions as one of Australia’s largest solar energy research facilities. Our team provided engineering design, review and advisory support on Australian standards and the Renewable Energy Target scheme, so the site could reliably generate power, host large-scale PV research and demonstrate how utility-scale solar can contribute to Queensland’s energy mix.

Suntory Oceania's QLD Greenfield Project

Suntory Oceania’s new Swanbank facility in Queensland is a greenfield beverage manufacturing and distribution hub designed to operate as a carbon-neutral plant from day one. We helped shape the site’s integrated energy concept, combining a biomass hot water boiler, Organic Rankine Cycle generator, high-efficiency refrigeration and thousands of rooftop solar panels to cut emissions and support long-term decarbonisation goals.

Carlton & United Breweries – Yatala Brewery

Beca’s long-standing relationship with Carlton & United Breweries now extends beyond the Abbotsford Brewhouse to ongoing work at their Yatala Brewery in Queensland.
