Inspiring our next generation at the IPWEA New Zealand conference

Te Whakaohooho i ngā Rangatira o Āpōpō - Inspiring our Next Generation, this year’s Institute of Public Works Engineers Australasia – New Zealand (IPWEA NZ - Āpōpō from 1 July 2023) conference, is right around the corner, held 21 to 23 June in Rotorua.

We are proud to be supporting the conference to mark IPWEA’s 75th anniversary, and in particular the Te Tangata me te Hapori - People and Community stream that we are sponsoring.

“The theme of this year’s IPWEA NZ conference is especially dear to our hearts at Beca, as we strive alongside our clients and communities to shape a bright future for our next generation” says Priyani de Silva-Currie, Technical Director/Principal Asset Advisory at Beca – and IPWEA NZ President.

“With a backdrop of climate change, and rebuilding from Cyclone Gabrielle and ongoing extreme weather events across the nation, now is a critical time for the asset management profession to come together. It is important we share and learn from one another, rise together to face the challenges and seize the opportunities we face as a nation - for a safer, better tomorrow for our tamariki and mokopuna.”

We will be having a number of our people attend the conference, and we look forward to engaging with our clients and partners in the asset management community, across the advisory, transport and water sectors and so much more. With so many fantastic speakers attending from across the sector, it promises to be a lively and engaging event.

Our own speakers include:

We’ll also have a booth at the conference, so if you’re attending please feel free to drop by – we’d love to see you there.
