The RICS Awards recognises outstanding teamwork and companies that demonstrate industry-leading achievements and have shown high standards of professionalism across the built environment in New Zealand. In particular, the Quantity Surveying Team of the Year Award recognises companies, teams, or consortia engaged in outstanding quantity surveying work in 2021.

The judges commented on Beca’s professional and robust approach from start to finish on the $2.1billion regeneration of the New Zealand Defence Force’s estate over a 11-year period with a unique alliance model. "It was a strong team performance with excellent innovation to achieve client outcomes."

Beca’s 60-person Quantity Surveying team is an experienced strategic partner providing a suite of specialist services and offering leadership, advice, and technical guidance, and 38 members of the team were directly engaged on the project.

Beca also received the only other award in this category, namely the "Highly Commended" accolade for the Auckland Zoo Southeast Asia Precinct Project Team, effectively being awarded first and second place at the 2022 RICS awards ceremony.
