For the first time the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) has released Gender Pay Gap (GPG) data publicly for all private organisations in Australia with 100 employees or more, including Beca’s Australia business.

Acting Managing Director - Australia, David Papps, said Beca aims to create an environment where everyone has equal opportunity to succeed.

"We welcome the WGEA reporting changes, as they support our existing commitment to take meaningful action on gender pay and gender pay equity in what is a predominantly male dominated industry," David said.

Beca introduced gender targets in 2019 as part of our diversity and inclusion strategy to help us track gender balance.

"In Australia, we are making positive progress towards achieving our goal of ‘at least 40% women’ at the mid-career professional level, whilst continuing to focus on achieving our gender targets in the other cohorts" - David Papps, Acting MD - Beca Australia.

"In Australia, we are making positive progress towards achieving our goal of ‘at least 40% women’ at the mid-career professional level, whilst continuing to focus on achieving our gender targets in the other cohorts as part of our overall 40/40/20 gender target at all levels of our business by 2030," said David.

"And while we have made great strides towards improving our gender pay equity, our results suggest that we are not yet where we aspire to be when it comes to gender balance across the organisation.

"We have in place a range of existing actions and are implementing new measures and areas of focus to help us reduce our gender pay gap," he said.

Beca is committed to growing an environment where our people have equal opportunity to build a career that reflects their ability and passions, where they believe in their potential, and feel they belong, are connected and able to thrive.

Beca has an active Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Steering Group, drawn from employees across the business to provide diverse representation, thought leadership and to guide alignment and focus of D&I initiatives. The group champions and leads diversity and inclusion across Beca, sets Group D&I priorities and recommends initiatives.
