Say hi to Beca in Thailand!
Services We Provide
From our Bangkok office we provide a mix of engineering and consulting services across buildings, transport, industry and the public sector. Involve us to help from early feasibility and survey work through to detailed design, construction supervision and commissioning. We bring extensive civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical and digital capabilities to projects, including GIS and information technology tools to support planning and decision-making.
Building Design and Development
Our building design and development team supports Thai and international clients with integrated architectural, structural, MEP and building services solutions. We work on new developments, redevelopments and fit-outs, combining local code knowledge with international standards and green building expertise. Our engineers and project managers coordinate closely with your design team, using digital models and clear documentation so concepts can be turned into buildable, comfortable and high-performance buildings.
Industrial Engineering
Industrial projects in Thailand tend to combine complex process systems with tight programmes and high reliability expectations. Our industrial engineering team helps clients plan, design and improve production lines, utilities and support services in plants such as food and beverage, manufacturing and logistics facilities. Work can range from feasibility and layout studies through to detailed design, equipment integration and process engineering. In all cases, we deliver solutions aimed at lifting safety, throughput and overall performance.
Electrical Engineering
Our electrical engineers support projects across buildings, industry and infrastructure. We design and review power distribution, lighting, earthing and control systems so they are safe, reliable and suited to local conditions. Projects typically require coordination with mechanical, process and IT teams on topics like backup power, automation, communication networks and system integration. We can also provide construction supervision and testing support, ensuring that installed systems match design intent and comply with the relevant standards and requirements.
Renewable Energy Consulting
Our sustainable energy work in Thailand brings engineers, planners and project managers together to help clients develop compliant projects that are technically sound and commercially viable. Clients come to us for project feasibility studies for solar, bioenergy or hybrid systems, grid connection and protection reviews, performance modelling, and more. Alongside technical design, we provide expert advice on aligning delivery strategy with risk and stakeholder requirements for each project.
Our Work in Thailand
Bank of Thailand Learning Center
The Bank of Thailand Learning Center converts the bank’s former note-printing works and gold depository on the Chao Phraya River into a public education and exhibition space. Working with competition-winning architects Creative Crews, Beca provided structural, building services and IT engineering plus construction supervision to add new spaces such as a 500-person ballroom on top of the existing building while retaining its key heritage elements.
Green Spot Soy Milk Plant
Green Spot’s new Vitamilk factory at Nong Khae Industrial Estate in Saraburi is a greenfield soymilk production facility built to support major growth in Thailand and export markets. Beca supplied process, industrial and project management expertise for the site and plant layout, integrating advanced processing, packaging and warehousing systems so the facility can operate efficiently today and accommodate future automation.
One Bangkok
One Bangkok is a 16.7-hectare mixed-use district beside Lumphini Park and one of Thailand’s largest building projects, with a planned 90-storey signature tower, 13 towers in total and over 1.8 million m² of floor area. Beca is providing structural and building services design across the precinct, helping this ambitious development target international benchmarks for sustainability, smart building performance and urban connectivity.
Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC)
Queen Sirikit National Convention Center is Thailand’s first international convention venue and has recently been rebuilt as a much larger, world-class event hub in Bangkok’s CBD. Beca (Thailand) acted as structural engineer for the major renovation, working with local partners to deliver a three-level, 280,000 m² facility that can host large exhibitions and conferences while meeting modern seismic, safety and performance expectations.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do your engineering consultants typically support projects in Thailand?
Our consultants can assist from the very start of a project through to handover, offering advice on feasibility, options, programme, risk and budget as well as technical design. On many assignments we also provide project management support – helping set up governance, coordinate multiple disciplines and suppliers, track progress against time and cost, and keep documentation and approvals on track – guiding engineering, construction and technology work forward in a controlled, transparent way.
Can you provide geotechnical investigations and material testing?
Yes. We can arrange and interpret geotechnical investigations and material testing as part of our consulting work in Thailand. We also offer surveying and other site studies, ensuring that you have a complete understanding of ground conditions and material properties before design and construction decisions are locked in.
How much time do your engineering consultants spend on site?
They’re based in the office for design, coordination and reporting, but regular site and client visits are a normal part of the job. Time on site is required to understand conditions first-hand, attend meetings and check how work is progressing. The balance varies by project stage, but you can expect our consultants to be present on site when key investigations, approvals or construction activities are happening.
What should we look at when choosing an engineering consultancy in Thailand?
It usually pays to look beyond price and check whether the consultancy has relevant experience on projects like yours, including local Thai work and good references you can follow up. You’ll want to know who will actually do the work – for example, whether there are licensed Professional Engineers on the team – and how strong their project management and interpersonal skills are, as you’ll be working with them over months rather than days. It’s also worth checking how clearly they explain scope, programme and fees up front, and whether their communication style and culture feel like a good fit for how your organisation makes decisions.
What experience do you expect from engineers who want to work as Beca consultants?
We typically look for a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university, a solid grounding in your discipline, and some relevant project or consulting experience rather than purely academic work. Practical exposure to design or delivery, basic project management skills, and the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients are all important. For more senior roles, prior consulting experience, stronger coordination and communication skills, and in some cases professional registration or eligibility to become a licensed Professional Engineer are expected, as you’ll be leading work and guiding others.
