Graham Spargo joins Beca’s Australian Advisory team as Business Director

Beca is excited to welcome Graham Spargo to our Australian Advisory team as Business Director – a role that will see him working closely with our Newcastle-based Beca HunterH2O Water business to pursue fresh growth opportunities.

A distinguished strategic planning and stakeholder management professional, Graham has over 25 years’ experience working across New Zealand’s infrastructure sector – including as General Manager – Strategy & Planning at Dunedin City Council and Project Director for the Wellington Region’s first Regional Strategy (WRS).

A familiar face to many within our business, Graham has already worked for Beca since 2010 in a number of Wellington-based advisory roles, most recently as an Infrastructure Alliance Management team member. After completing his role on this major alliance, he was keen to explore other opportunities to harness his unique skill set within the Beca Group, while enjoying a change of scenery across the ditch.

As Business Director in our Australian Advisory team, Graham will be based in our Newcastle office. There he’ll work closely with our Beca HunterH2O Water business to identify and pursue new water-related advisory opportunities, to help us make everyday better for our clients and the communities they serve.

He’ll also harness his incredible skills to support other important functions of the Australian Advisory team including sustainability and strategic asset management; looking at sustainability and the impacts that this can have on the current future energy focus within Beca.

In his own words, "I’ve very much appreciated the warm welcomes, and am excited by the broad ranging nature and high caliber of projects the Newcastle office and wider Australian Advisory business are involved with, which highlights our great growth potential."

Nicole Holmes, Business Director – Beca HunterH2O added, "We are already realising the benefits of having Graham working with us in the Newcastle office. We are now working jointly on a number of projects for major water clients in New South Wales and leveraging Graham’s extensive advisory experience to strengthen our service offering."
