Beca appoints new Business Director for Construction Sector Advisory

We are excited to announce the appointment of Gavin Shaw as Business Director for Construction Sector Advisory.
In his new role, Gavin’s focus will be partnering with key clients in shaping construction sector outcomes and setting up significant capital programmes - delivering better outcomes not only for clients but more broadly for the construction sector and for New Zealand.

Gaining a wealth of experience during his 20 years at Beca, Gavin has held positions in project management and more recently, as the General Manager for Project Strategy & Delivery, demonstrating himself as a passionate and committed advocate for the industry.

Currently, New Zealand is experiencing significant change, reform and investment in infrastructure and construction, at a time when resources are constrained, and while the sector continues to experience headwinds around performance and productivity. As a sector that contributes significantly to New Zealand’s employment, wellbeing and prosperity, there is a huge opportunity to improve its performance to achieve better outcomes across the country.

Gavin’s vision for his new role stems from his belief in the construction industry as a vehicle to deliver substantially better outcomes for clients and for New Zealand. “I am passionate about the built environment and transforming things for the greater good, and through understanding and balancing the social, behavioral and commercial forces that shape our industry, we can consistently achieve more,” says Gavin.

Amelia Linzey, Group Director for Advisory says, “At Beca our Advisory Practice is about bringing experienced-based advisory services to deliver consistently better outcomes for our clients. We look forward to leveraging Gavin's experience and knowledge in the sector and being at the forefront of guiding our clients through these challenging times."

Gavin began his new role on the 1st of September 2021.
