Building future resilience – Beca a Gold sponsor of Building Nations 2050

We are excited to be sponsoring Building Nations, New Zealand’s leading infrastructure conference for another year.

Held in Wellington on 22-23 November, the conference brings together public and private sector thought-leaders and decision-makers to discuss pivotal infrastructure priorities, challenges and opportunities.

This year’s theme of 'resilience’ looks ahead to the future state of infrastructure in 2050 and challenges us to envision the pathways needed to achieve results critical to the future of New Zealand.

As an industry, we are designing infrastructure now that will be an investment for future generations. We need to challenge ourselves and get into the shoes of New Zealand’s future people and work together to build a better, equitable future for communities of Aotearoa.

As Gold Sponsor of the Transport and Housing session on Day 2, Beca will facilitate a panel discussion on the key ingredients for the future of New Zealand housing.

Darren Wu – Beca Technical Director Advisory will lead the session, with panelists Tracey Haszard – Beca Senior Principal Project Delivery, Helmut Modlik – Te Rūnanga O Toa Rangatira CEO, and Duncan Tindall – GHD NZ Market Lead Transport.

The session will consider the unique realities and complexities of urban densification in New Zealand, what’s important to our future New Zealand communities, and how understanding this will enable us to deliver successful solutions that create equitable outcomes for our next generation.

Amelia Linzey, Group Director - Advisory and Chief Planner will also be taking part in the Diversity Breakfast panel discussion, talking about best practice diversity and inclusion programmes across the infrastructure sector.
