Beca gender pay equity in Australia: progress and future commitment

This week, the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) released its annual Gender Pay Gap (GPG) data for private organisations in Australia with 100 or more employees, including Beca.
This marks the third consecutive year of public disclosure - an important step toward greater transparency and accountability in addressing gender pay equity.

“Our people and the diversity of perspectives they bring are our greatest strength,” said Andrew Mailer, Managing Director, Australia.

“Diverse and inclusive teams are a catalyst for better ideas, stronger collaboration, and more innovative outcomes for our clients and communities. We’ve made progress in reducing the gender pay gap in Australia, and there’s still more to do.”

“Strengthening women’s representation at every level of our business and closing the gender pay gap remain key priorities.”

Practical progress to improve gender diversity

Beca continues to focus on practical actions that support recruitment, retention and progression for women across the business. Over the past two years, we’ve seen a steady decline in women’s turnover close to a 50% reduction, as targeted initiatives take hold.

During the reporting period, Beca was recognised in the 'People First' category at the Consult Australia Awards, highlighting Killibinbin - our sponsorship program for women, and the contribution of our Gender@Beca affinity group.

Alongside Killibinbin, we’re continuing principal‑led mentoring, targeted networking through Gender@Beca, and support for parents returning from parental leave, while identifying new opportunities to help close our GPG.

These initiatives reflect Beca’s broader strategy to create an inclusive environment where all people can thrive, and to ensure our workforce reflects the diversity of the clients and communities we serve.

“As a leadership team, we’re committed to building on our progress and delivering further meaningful change for our people,” Andrew said.
