South East Water has again appointed Beca HunterH2O as their engineering partner, this time as part of a joint venture on their Integrated Planning and Delivery (IPD) panel to drive generational infrastructure renewal for South East Melbourne.
A substantial appointment, South East Water selected the Beca HunterH2O, Fulton Hogan and Interflow (BFHI) joint venture to oversee the planning, design, construction and delivery of their $1.5 billion capital works program over the next 10 years.
Beca HunterH2O Technical Fellow, David Papps, said the appointment builds on our existing longstanding partnership with South East Water and complements our position on Metropolitan Melbourne’s other three major water panels.
“This appointment plays to the way we love to work – in collaborative relationships with integrated teams maximising knowledge transfer and teamwork,” David said.
“We’re excited to be continuing our 10+ year relationship with South East Water, and building an integrated team with our friends from South East Water, Fulton Hogan and Interflow. This innovative delivery model offers an incredible opportunity to streamline the planning, design and delivery of projects, with real benefits to South East Water customers.”
With South Eastern Melbourne one of Australia’s fastest-growing population corridors, Beca's work on this program will oversee the generational renewal of ageing water infrastructure assets (some of which are over 100 years old) that serve more than 1.8 million people.
South East Water’s Managing Director Lara Olsen is equally excited by what lies ahead, adding “We’re thrilled to welcome ABK and BFHI to the South East Water team and look forward to working together to ensure quality and reliable water, sewerage and recycled water services for 1.8 million people, now and into the future”.
