Craig Price recognised as Distinguished Fellow of Engineering New Zealand

Beca is proud to announce our Chief Technical Officer Craig Price has been recognised as a Distinguished Fellow of Engineering New Zealand (ENZ).

In response to his achievement, Craig said, “I am humbled and honoured to receive this prestigious recognition by the Engineering fraternity of Aotearoa, New Zealand. I feel very fortunate that Beca has supported me in my development and wider contribution to the profession. It’s an exciting time for engineers, as we face significant challenges during these times, and as we work on evolving technology to support the needs faced by the industry, businesses and throughout our communities.”

“We are faced with opportunities that allow us to be entrepreneurial, creative and innovative to lead in the ways we do our work. Our role in managing and mitigating existing and future risks to provide resilient communities, proactively design out environmental impacts on our projects and collaborate to redress climate change are critical to future success.”

Craig is respected for his extensive professional and technical knowledge and contribution to the engineering profession both within and outside Beca.

Craig’s technical background is in the design of commercial and institutional buildings and in particular, energy-efficient and green building technologies.

His leadership as Beca’s Regional Manager for the South Island and Manager of Christchurch office through the two major Canterbury earthquakes was outstanding, as was his compassion for people’s families.

Most recently, he was President overseeing the rebranding and repositioning of Engineering New Zealand, formerly IPENZ and has been extensively involved in many aspects of professional practice governance both nationally and internationally for many years.

Craig will celebrate alongside other 2022 Distinguished Fellows and Fellows at ENZ’s Fellows Dinner later in the year.
