Penny Impey has been appointed as Senior Associate – Business Performance to lead our team in the New Zealand health and disability sector.
Penny has over twenty-five years of nursing experience, having spent the last ten years as an improvement specialist at various district health boards. She has strong project and programme management experience and has been involved with service improvement health projects both nationally and internationally.
Penny has a Masters of Nursing and a Masters in Business Administration. She is a Prince2 and Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) practitioner and is Six Sigma Green Belt trained.
Penny is passionate about working with clients to identify opportunities for improvement and implement organisational change that creates value for patients, the community and health organisations.
Her experience in the patient safety and experience field includes the set up and implementation of the Aiming for Zero Patient Harm programme which focussed on changing the incident reporting culture in a New Zealand district health board (DHB). Her more recent work includes the reform of the certification review process for the Ministry of Health, and a major patient flow, pathway development and review programme in a large DHB.
