Nickel Mining & Processing

New Caledonia is a major global producer of nickel, and Beca has supported this mainstay of the local economy by delivering advanced engineering solutions across major operations. One example is the Prony Resources Beneficiation Project, where we enhanced production efficiency through optimised ore handling and metallurgical design, from concept to detailed engineering.

Industrial Advisory & Project Delivery

Our Industrial Advisory team provides strategic and project support services to the industrial sector in New Caledonia, from discovery and operations to sustainability and digital transformation. Our expertise spans from FEED studies to EPCM execution, integrating engineering disciplines such as civil, structural, mechanical, process, and electrical. For instance, within a tight 17-day shutdown window, we helped Société Le Nickel’s TBC plant upgrade to achieve reduced dust emissions, lower operating costs and improved throughput.

Digital-Driven Industrial Sustainability

Drawing on our expertise across digital and sustainability, Beca brings smart solutions to heavy industry. For instance, our work with SLN’s baghouse project leveraged digital modeling technology (IDEAS™) to identify heat loss and validate solutions that avoided the need for high-outlay equipment. This digital-first mindset and our commitment to long-term operational sustainability help clients achieve greater efficiency and resilience for less cost.
