Nestled in a vibrant ecosystem of researchers, entrepreneurs and creators at the Jurong Innovation District, Bulim Square is the hub where industry 4.0 technologies are making the advanced manufacturing dream possible in Singapore.
From R&D and prototyping to production and distribution, the Bulim Square precinct will welcome a full suite of operational and HQ functions for high-tech manufacturing firms in one location, after its expected completion date in 2022.
Together with the precinct’s integrated logistics infrastructure, high-specification spaces and proximity to nearby research and academic institutions, this 600-hectare development comprising four industrial buildings will help push Singapore to the forefront of advanced manufacturing globally.
Beca are the smart cities, mechanical, electrical engineering and ICT consultants for the exciting project. And we’re working closely with JID’s (Jurong Innovation District) master planners, to coordinate the seamless integration of Bulim Square’s wider data network infrastructure with the demanding connectivity needs of individual tenants, who will occupy its 203 individual factory and warehouse units.
One of the defining features of this development is the use of autonomously guided vehicles to transport materials throughout the seven levels of its buildings, from the loading dock directly to the tenant premises.
A series of wired and wireless networks are also being provided throughout the precinct, which are connected to high security, on-site data centres; providing state-of-the art connectivity for tenant and building operations management systems. This includes ‘Digital Ceilings’ that provide real-time building data, wireless media rooms and people counting systems.
Whilst still under construction, Bulim Square will be another landmark in Singapore’s drive to become a truly ‘Smart Nation’ well prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century!
