In the search for long-term sustainability, the shift from fossil fuels to low-carbon fuels is essential for our planet's future.
Shaping our energy future
Beca is at the forefront of this transition, leveraging over a century of engineering innovation to champion renewable energy solutions.
With a proven track record in bioenergy and green hydrogen in Australia and New Zealand, Beca is a global leader on the path toward a sustainable energy landscape.
What are sustainable fuels?
Sustainable fuels – such as biogas, biodiesel, biomass such as used cooking oil (UCO), synthetic fuels like sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel, and green hydrogen-based fuels such as green ammonia – are derived from renewable feedstocks such as organic waste and agricultural byproducts or, in the case of green hydrogen, water and renewable electricity.
Sustainable fuels are crucial in mitigating climate change and enhancing energy efficiency, reducing carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions, and securing energy independence; realising the vision of a decarbonised future.
