Supply of your personal information to us is voluntary. At all times, you have the right to view and update your personal information online yourself, provided this online facility is available. Newsletters: From time to time, Beca sends e-newsletters which could contain links to Beca’s website.  Please note that Beca will monitor use of these links, and will collect general information about its website use, traffic patterns, demand for relevant products, services, facilities and information and related site information.

Why we need to collect your personal information

We collect information relating to you and your use of Scout, so we can provide you with the information you request about Beca, our Graduate Development Programme, our Summer Intern Programme, and to continuously improve our support to you.

What we collect

We will try to minimise the personal information we collect from you, this may include  collecting any other information you provide in the conversations you have with Scout and your Facebook profile. If you are logged into your Facebook account when you chat with Scout, then we will also be able to see any information publicly available on your Facebook profile.

How we use it

We use your personal information to provide any help you request from Scout. We may refer to these conversations in case Scout needs to share any information with one of our team, this way we can quickly understand your issue and provide further assistance if needed. These conversations are also used to continuously train Scout, so we can better learn how you like to interact and the best ways to respond and help you.

What we share

Beca is an international organisation and the personal information we collect may be shared throughout our network of offices.  We may also share your personal information with third parties who assist us in delivering our services, including operating Scout. The third parties who we engage with will be contractually bound to keep all information confidential and to only process your information to the extent that it is necessary and in accordance with applicable law. 

How we store and protect

Scout is hosted on third-party platforms which means your conversations and any information you share is subject to their privacy policies. We make all reasonable efforts to secure our systems to ensure the confidentiality and security of your personal information. We have implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operational security to protect the personal information in our possession or under our control and to prevent unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks. 

Most of the personal information we hold is stored on Microsoft cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure. Microsoft takes privacy seriously and has several safeguards in place to protect the personal information it holds on our behalf. You should be aware, however, that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While security cannot be guaranteed, we strive to protect the security of your information and are constantly reviewing and enhancing our information security measures.
