The realisation of the Wisma Mulia 2 office tower came with a range of unique demands, including energy efficiency and a fast-tracked schedule.

Soaring 35 storeys into the air, Wisma Mulia 2 is the slightly smaller sister of the 54-storey Wisma Mulia. As a Grade A office tower, it has high quality finishes and a range of features to suit the needs of its demanding tenants.

Mulia Group (the commercial building developers behind Wisma Mulia 2) also had stringent demands for the building. It needed to be delivered quickly and offer energy efficiency, flexible space for different tenants, plus high ceilings.

This is our fifth project with Mulia, where we provided the mechanical and electrical (M&E) engineering design and developed solutions to help achieve their aims. Features include LED lighting throughout the building – making Wisma Mulia 2 the first office building in Jakarta to use an all LED, energy efficient installation. To meet the desired high ceilings, building services were designed to be compact. For the flexibility of each tenant’s individual fit-out, M&E services were modular. The 18m high grand entrance lobby is kept cool by a low level cooling arrangement employing a stratification concept.

By working closely with Mulia’s in-house architectural team and the US-based structural engineers, we provided systems that were easy and fast to install and achieved Mulia’s aims. Successful collaboration meant we completed our design within just three months – meeting Mulia’s fast-tracked deadline.
