Claire Buxton

A fun-loving, award-winning, young surveyor.

Survey the job scene

Claire wanted a job that was fun. She wanted a career that she could enjoy and one in which she could make a difference.

Claire wanted to help rebuild her city of Christchurch following a devastating earthquake in 2011, by assisting with the city's post-earthquake surveying needs. So she joined Beca. Having already gained experience with us as a summer student, she already knew that our values aligned with her own, and the opportunities available to her would help progress her career.

She was also focused on her professional accreditation so, while studying, she was also gaining relevant project experience with us. She was given the chance to go on secondments (spending six months at Fletcher Infrastructure), and to our Wellington office to broaden her surveying repertoire. On her four-year anniversary with Beca, Claire celebrated completing her professional registration interviews.

In 2016, in recognition for her outstanding service and contribution to the survey profession, Claire was awarded the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors Bogle Young Surveyor of the Year Award.

We're looking for talented and driven surveyors to join our New Zealand team - find out more!
