With a civil engineering background and a rewarding nine-year career in the traffic and transport industry under his belt, Alex knew he was ready for his next challenge to continue to grow in his chosen field.
Opportunity knocked when Alex found the perfect role at Beca. Fast-forward six months and he is reaping the benefits; getting to work alongside a number of major transport clients and being mentored by experienced colleagues.
He’s had the opportunity to work on some exciting transport projects including the Christchurch City Council Major Cycleway Routes, where his previous experience in traffic signal design, maintenance and Urban Traffic Management and Control (UTMC) were instrumental in delivering a successful project outcome. Alex is now delivering various traffic signal projects around New Zealand and devotes time leading and mentoring his new team members in the traffic signals design area.
With a love of the outdoors, most of his weekends are taken up mountain biking or skiing at one of the world-class alpine resorts Christchurch has to offer.
Having had the opportunity to have a go at some key roading projects and making great strides in his career, Alex is glad he made the move.
The people who you meet during the Beca journey are fantastic, and the amount of general support you get when settling in is excellent.
