About our grad programme
Each year we welcome over 200 graduates across Australia and New Zealand. Whether you’re interested in a career in engineering, science, planning, arts, or digital - we’ll support you to find where you belong at Beca.
Our size and agility mean you’re not just on the fringes; you’ll be part of a team making a visible difference, solving problems for our clients, and co-creating to discover new ways of doing things better.
We believe the best place to learn is on the job so you can expect to work on real jobs for our clients, right from the start!
Our Graduate Development Programme involves:
- two years of varied, hands-on project experience
- networking opportunities and exposure to senior leaders
- support to develop your leadership style and communication skills
- on-site experience across exciting regional and metropolitan projects
- access to a range of benefits and development opportunities
- fun social events.
Our purpose is to make every day better for our people, clients and communities, and we want you to be part of the story. At Beca, you can belong.
We also offer a Summer Intern Programme, with applications scheduled to open in late July 2023.
Be involved. Be heard. Belong.

How the application process works
Applications open. Applications for our 2023/24 Graduate Programme open on 13 March 2023!
Apply online. You’ll need to upload your cover letter, CV and academic transcript (we know this won't be your official one, so just send us where you are at so far). You can also complete optional video submissions to help support your application.
Applications close. If you have missed the deadline or your application isn't successful, we encourage you to keep in touch – there are other grad opportunities open throughout the year.
Applicant screening begins. Once applications have closed, all applications will be reviewed and then shortlisted by our team. If we’re progressing with your application, you're successful, we’ll invite you to our kick-off session. If your application isn’t successful, we will be sure to let you know via email.
Kick-off sessions. Before all interviews begin shortlisted candidates will have the opportunity to come to a one-hour virtual session we have before interviews where you can learn more about Beca, the graduate program, and get to ask our current grads and the recruitment team questions.
Interviews. This is where it gets exciting! We want to know more about you, what you like to do outside of university and why you want to join Beca. We’ll also ask you to talk us through a case study exercise, along with standard behavioural-based interview questions. To prepare, you’ll be emailed the case studies a few days before the interview.
Employment offers. We'll contact you as soon as a decision has been made. If you're offered a job, we will complete a reference check and then send your formal offer online through your candidate profile. A background check will be completed, prior to you starting with us and an education check will be completed at the beginning of 2024 to confirm your qualification/s.
Onboarding. We're looking forward to welcoming you to Beca! Most of our graduates commence in early March where you will be welcomed into our Graduate Development Programme. A support person (buddy) will be there to support you to ensure you’ll feel part of the team from day one.
