Beca has recently welcomed Tony Auditore as Technical Director to the earthing team – a dedicated section of the power business.
Tony joins Beca following a career spanning 46 years within the power industry in South Africa and New Zealand. He has experience across research and development, design, project management, operations and maintenance, and transmission network utilisation.
Tony is excited to bring his enthusiasm and technical expertise to Beca, to “support the ongoing growth of our earthing offering and provide real value to our clients as the industry continues to transform.”
Based in Hamilton, New Zealand, Tony will be working with the entire Beca team including power. “We’re very excited to have Tony join our team as we continue to evolve and advance our offerings in response to growing demand for Beca’s services. Tony’s skill and knowledge in specialist areas including; systems earthing, oil and gas cathode protection, AC/DC interference mitigation, insulation coordination and asset management, will help us deliver even more strategic and technical expertise to our clients,” says Jason Hall, Manager – Southern Power.
Tony’s significant contributions to academia have also been evident throughout his career. Over the last eight years Tony has presented several courses for IDC in New Zealand, Australia and Indonesia. He has assisted in compiling the Australian Engineering Institute of Technology’s Master Electrical Engineering course development program, and more recently served on the Institute’s Professional Doctorate Advisory Committee.
In addition, Tony compiled Master of Science - Power Engineering courses for the University of KwaZulu-Natal in the fields of electrical utility refurbishment and the maintenance and performance of electrical utilities.
Tony holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stellenbosch University, and is currently appointed as an Honorary Research Associate in the School of Engineering and Computer Science at Victoria University of Wellington.
