Beca extends a warm welcome to Tom Scott, Engineering Manager at Black & Veatch, as he starts at his new base in our Auckland office.

Returning to New Zealand after a long time overseas, Tom’s move came about through our partnership with Black & Veatch; global leader in critical human infrastructure across Water, Energy, Telecommunications and Government Services.

“I am looking forward to building the relationship between Beca and Black & Veatch, and introducing my family to the Kiwi way of life and all that New Zealand has to offer,” says Tom.

Tom has extensive expertise in designing water infrastructure through design and construct partnerships. From a background in hydraulic modelling, Tom has gone on to design and construct pumping stations, pipelines, treatment works, storage facilities, and reservoirs across the three waters; freshwater, wastewater and stormwater.

“It’s fantastic having Tom join the team on the ground here in Auckland. Tom’s expertise will provide huge value and help enhance our offering to deliver healthy, safe and sustainable solutions to water clients throughout New Zealand and Australia,” says Garry Macdonald, Beca Water Market Leader.

Recent projects Tom has been involved with in the United Kingdom, have involved urban pollution management, sustainable urban development, rehabilitation, design and optimisation of networks and network infrastructure. He also has experience in sewerage networks and airports, including drainage works, provision of electrical services and aircraft pavements, structural design of reinforced concrete structures, and general civil engineering design relating to water infrastructure.
