Dan Stevens recognised on global water stage

Beca Business Director for Water, Dan Stevens, has been acknowledged for his extensive contributions to the water industry, recently being appointed as a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM).

Dan has over 35 years’ international experience in the water sector, 25 of those as a member of CIWEM. CIWEM is an international organisation with a membership base stretching across more than 90 countries and connecting a network of over 15,000 professionals worldwide.

“During my career I have been lucky enough to have worked with many parts of the water industry, both rural and urban, and dedicated water professionals around the world. I am always keen to explore how we can learn from each other and advance our collective knowledge,” said Dan. “It is a great honour to be recognised by your peers in this way and is really quite humbling.”

Fellowship is CIWEM’s highest grade of membership, recognising those who have significant experience in a senior role. It is an acknowledgement of achievement, of high regard by industry peers, and of work done to inspire future generations and elevate the status of the water and environmental sector.

Specialising in three-waters master planning, system optimisation and advanced asset management, Dan has a Diploma in Water and Environmental Management (DipWEM) and is a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and Chartered Water and Environmental Manager (CWEM).

CIWEM provides input into the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, supports training initiatives for professionals across the world, develops agreements with learned societies in other countries and looks to further global environmental knowledge exchange.
