Beca announces two new Board Directors

Beca Group Chairman Richard Aitken recently announced two new directors have been appointed to the Beca Group Limited (BGL) board, Amelia Linzey and Dr Thomas Hyde. Both are long serving Beca employees and leaders who have had a significant impact in their respective industry circles.

"The Board is delighted to have the benefits of fresh insights from our two newest members," says Richard Aitken. "Beca is going through an exciting period of re-invigoration, and with their combined experience in leadership, planning, strategic and governance roles, Thomas and Amelia will be able to challenge our thinking on several fronts and make sure the Group is responding well to the challenges and opportunities ahead."

Amelia Linzey

A geographer by training, Amelia is a Senior Technical Director for Beca's planning team. She has directed a number of key strategic and policy planning, infrastructure planning, statutory consents and community consultation projects.

She has worked with Housing New Zealand and other Clients on submissions, the development of Auckland's Unitary Plan, and as Engagement Manager on the NZ Transport Agency's nationally significant East West Link. Amelia also has professional roles as a member of the Advisory Board for the Sustainable Business Council and as Editor of Planning Quarterly (the NZ Planning Institute's official journal).

Amelia was recently selected for the Global Women Breakthrough Leadership Programme, a premium leadership programme tailored to develop the breakthrough thinking that drives exceptional leadership performance in executive leadership teams, governance roles and wider spheres for economic and social impact.

Thomas Hyde

Thomas has a doctorate in chemical engineering, and his insights and leadership have put Beca on the map in the areas of business performance, asset performance and applied technology. His strong business acumen has also seen him grow and lead the integration of all defence activity across the group, with active involvement in defence industry in Australia and New Zealand.

He has also led the development of Beca's strategic business consulting services, with a focus on helping clients exploit and adapt to technology-led disruption of their businesses. As CIO for Beca, Thomas engages with peers and industry leaders to stay abreast of and influence technology sector trends.
