Jay Nair attains Fellow status with Engineers Australia

We are proud to announce that Jay Nair, a Senior Civil Engineer with our Australian Airports team, has achieved Fellow status with Engineers Australia.

Fellows of Engineers Australia are recognised as being amongst the true leaders of the industry and profession. So this is a wonderful honour to mark Jay's outstanding contribution.

An official ceremony will be held on 4 March 2015, and senior Beca colleagues will also attend to witness Jay receiving this prestigious accreditation by Australia's peak engineering body.

For over 21 years, Jay has been involved with airport works including airfield pavement design, evaluation, and construction across a number of countries including Australia, India, Afghanistan, Vietnam, South Africa, Bhutan, Papua New Guinea, and Sri Lanka.

Jay has been with Beca for six years and is currently the Lead Pavement Engineer for the Southern Apron Expansion project at Melbourne Airport and leads the Design/Construction Supervision team. This project also incorporates the Airside component of Melbourne Airport's new Terminal 4 development.

Jay was also the Lead Engineer for the Runway Overlay project at Melbourne Airport, which won the Australian Institute of Project Management's '2012 Project Management Achievement Award' for an engineering project under $100M.
