Beca Singapore recognised for people excellence

Beca’s Singapore team received the 2018 People Excellence Award at the Business Excellence Awards Gala Dinner last night.

The Business Excellence Initiative, run by Enterprise Singapore, recognises outstanding management capabilities, and superior business practices and performance.

“This award affirms that we’re on the right track with our business, particularly our culture,” said Ang Seng Lee, Managing Director Singapore. “We have always been committed to developing our talent to help make every day better for the communities in which we work. We want to leave a legacy for our built environment through the knowledge and expertise of our people.”

Beca was recognised for being an employer of choice in a highly competitive market. The Beca Emerging Leaders Programme - aimed at preparing young engineers in Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand for leadership roles – was also highlighted. The judges were impressed by the support given to our people to use the latest technologies such as Virtual Reality, and the recognition given to our young engineers in winning ACES Young Engineer of The Year Awards five years in a row.

Ang Seng thanked Enterprise Singapore and the SQA Governing Council for fostering a culture of excellence and supporting and encouraging an organisation like Beca to grow. “Being presented with the People Excellence Award is a huge achievement. We hope to continue surpassing our own expectations and we are very excited about the next chapter in our company’s story,” he said.
