Beca is delighted to announce the appointment of Connon Andrews to our newly created role of Market Leader - Climate Adaptation and Resilience.
Climate change risk, particularly for infrastructure and the resulting social and cultural consequences, is a significant challenge for humanity. In his new role, Connon will continue his strong partnership and collaborative focus, and will work closely with our clients and communities to be a part of solving challenging problems.

Throughout his 20+ year career as a coastal and climate change specialist, Connon has developed an extensive international resume. In addition to his involvement in specialist climate change vulnerability and disaster risk assessment projects, he also supports the Pacific Resource Infrastructure Facility (PRIF) as a climate change advisor and serves on the board of the New Zealand Coastal Society.

Connon says “I am pleased to take up this important role supporting our communities and clients in considering the future effects of climate change. We are at an important point in time where we need to rapidly adjust to a new normal, to accommodate and where possible mitigate the future effects of climate change. This is a passion area of mine and I am looking forward to further developing our services and helping our clients and communities navigate this complex resilience and sustainable journey.”

Andrea Rickard, General Manager - Transport and Infrastructure NZ says,” Aotearoa New Zealand needs to take action quickly to address the challenges of climate change. Connon is a collaborative leader and is incredibly passionate about making a difference, working alongside leaders from across Beca to grow our climate adaptation, and disaster risk and resilience services.”

Connon starts his new role on 1 October. He is currently International Manager and has been highly influential in Beca’s growth in scale and diversity of opportunities in the Pacific, including in responding to climate adaptation and resilience challenges.
