Beca is pleased to be a foundation sponsor for the University of Auckland’s new space for innovation, the PotentiaLab.
Beca was announced as one of three foundation sponsors during the launch of the University’s fundraising campaign For All Our Futures, on Friday 23 September.
Speaking at the function, Vice Chancellor Stuart McCutcheon said, “It is only by creating new, innovative companies that we will provide our children and grandchildren with the kinds of interesting, high-value careers that we would wish for them. This will require our graduates to be creative and innovative.”
“Thanks to the campaign gifts, we will be able to create the PotentiaLab, an exciting new space where our students can prototype their ideas before taking them to market. This will greatly enhance the University’s internationally recognised Entrepreneurship Ecosystem.”
According to CEO Greg Lowe, the sponsorship aligns closely with Beca’s commitment to partnering with universities and industry bodies to nurture and encourage talented and creative thinkers for the future.
“Many of our brightest professionals across Beca and our industry have come from the University of Auckland. We look forward to seeing the business ideas and the talented people with a creative, entrepreneurial approach who will emerge from this space,” he says.
The PotentiaLab is expected to be officially unveiled early next year.
