Aorangi House Highly Commended at CIBSE Building Performance awards

Aorangi House has picked up another accolade at the 2019 CIBSE Building Performance awards. Shortlisted for International Project of the Year, the revitalisation and optimisation project in Wellington was one of nine in the category, which included projects from the US, Europe and Asia.

The award recognises projects with exceptional building services engineering and outstanding measured performance outcomes.

The Commendation is not the first international recognition for Aorangi House. In September 2018, it received the World Green Building award for Leadership in Sustainable Design and Performance, and is one of the most energy-efficient buildings in New Zealand. Once unoccupied and outdated, it’s now a 5.5-star NABERSNZ-rated green building, using around 64% less energy than the average commercial office.

The CIBSE Building Performance Awards, now in their twelfth year, recognise the people, products and projects that demonstrate engineering excellence in the built environment.

They are the only industry Awards that focus on actual, measured performance outcomes, and not just design intent or performance specifications.
