Safety in design is one of the ways we help make projects and communities safer, with the end goal to make sure everyone goes home safely at the end of every day.

Whether it’s a wastewater treatment plant, a new highway or a warehouse, we work closely with our clients, their contractors and other involved parties to design for a safer environment from the outset - for the project and construction teams as well as the team or community who will ultimately use it.

Through safety in design, we proactively 'design out' many of the risks people could be exposed to. We listen to our clients and their stakeholders to understand the risks through the construction as well as the ‘business as usual’ operating environment. In doing this, we enable the project to be designed, constructed, operated and maintained in a healthier and safer way.

Eliminating or reducing risk up front makes good financial sense, too, as retrofitting for safety can be costly. And, more importantly, the safety lessons learned can come at a very high price.
