Award winning Aussie whiskies and gins for a bigger audience

Archie Rose Distilling Co are on the next step of their growth journey, and we’re right there beside them, expanding their distillery to bring their award-winning Aussie whiskies and gins to a bigger audience.

Given our strong track record working with brewers across Australasia, we were engaged by Archie Rose to review and complete process engineering design works for their new state of the art Whisky & Gin Distillery at their Banksmeadow site in suburban Sydney.

With 3 MLa per annum production from malted and unmalted grains – this facility is the first of its kind in Australia. The plant is also capable of processing multiple raw material types and is fully automated.

Services we provided included project management, multi-disciplinary process engineering detail design, hazardous area assessment, project costing and controls, and commissioning support for the whole process; from raw materials in - to finished product out, including cask warehousing and storage management.

Our relationship with Archie Rose and our experienced people enabled the team to guide the client in addressing issues that had not been previously discussed. This led to an improved and successful final design.

Working closely with the equipment vendor(s) and the builder, we successfully delivered this project, and  maintained momentum throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, utilising remote tools including HoloLens™ technology, which enables commissioning tasks for specialist vendor packages to be carried out remotely.

Through close collaboration with our client and the builder, including regular meetings and updates on site, we continue to support Archie Rose to achieve their ambitions of being ‘Australia’s most awarded distillery’ of fine spirits.
