Held from 26 to 28 June, this year’s Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA) NZ Conference brought together the finest minds in the industry. Amongst them were five Beca presenters who shared their insights on the theme ‘Delivering on Reform: Future Infrastructure Perspectives’.

“This year’s conference placed a real focus on how we have and can contribute to the wide range of reform occurring across multiple parts of the public works sector” says Chris French, Beca Business Director – Water & Wastewater and Board Member for IPWEA New Zealand. “It was particularly pleasing to see such a wide range of representatives from the transportation, water, buildings, planning and insurance sectors contributing to the conversation of how we can improve the resilience of our infrastructure, plan for changes in technology and meet the ever-changing demands that our community place on us.”

“It was great to see Beca well represented in the critical areas of water supply and urban transportation, where some of the most significant change to our infrastructure needs is occurring. Our presenters were able to demonstrate very practical application of our work to meet very real challenges. And picking up a Highly Commended Award for Glenn Jowett’s work with Hamilton City Council on BIM implementation was the icing on the cake.”
