“At Beca we have a long-term commitment to clients, with our people often working on client sites as part of the team for extended periods.”
Mary has been with Beca and joint venture partner Beca AMEC since 1996. Since then, her extensive industry experience in the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors in New Zealand and the United Kingdom has been put to good use on a number of project sites.
Most of these have been in the pulp and paper industry, particularly with client Norske Skog. Mary has developed excellent relationships with several Norske Skog team members in her stints as design manager for the installation of a new Saveall Filter for one of Norske Skog Tasman’s paper machines and project manager for the addition of a High Density Pulp Storage Tower. She has also been able to use her project management skills in the mining and metals industry, in the design of overland pipelines for a Goro Nickel project in New Caledonia.
Her willingness to embrace opportunities beyond her normal area of work and ability to build sound relationships with clients and colleagues has enabled Mary to keep growing with Beca. “The vast amount of collective knowledge available in the experience of Beca people has helped me a great deal in delivering exemplary service to our clients.”
Mary also appreciates Beca’s approach to flexible working hours, which has enabled her to achieve “a better balance of work and family – the best of both worlds.”
