Rob has been involved in the food and beverage industry since graduating with a Bachelor of Technology in industrial management and engineering in 1975. He gained valuable experience with the New Zealand Sugar Company, the brewing division of Alfa Laval (UK), Anchor Products (now Fonterra) and DB Breweries before joining Beca in 1995.
Rob’s first three years with Beca’s International Food and Beverage Services division were spent managing the design of a major project in China, the Lion Nathan Suzhou Brewery. He has since been Project Director on several projects for major international clients, from dairy and brewing to consumer foods and asset performance.
As well as carrying out operational team management duties, Rob has been heavily involved in extending Beca’s food and beverage capabilities from the traditional brewery business into fields such as dairy , beverage, meat and consumer foods. This focus on business development has brought positive results. “Widening our capability has more than doubled workload in the last five years alone,” he says.
Rob believes the team ethos at Beca is a key strength for our multi-disciplinary company to benefit our project management and design . “The interactive atmosphere not only lends itself to a range of project opportunities but is also conducive to addressing a range of Client requirements to complete the project .” Rob enjoys the ‘buzz’ of tapping into knowledge around Beca and delivering it in project form, and looking for the best fit of knowledge and experience that Beca can provide for its Clients.
