As Technical Director of Planning, Christine advises and assists Beca planners across New Zealand.
With a career spanning more than 28 years, Christine has developed extensive experience in all fields of planning, forging relationships with local authorities, New Zealand Transport Agencies and private companies.
Achieving an excellent outcome for a project, not only in terms of the legislation, but also from the client and community's perspective, is a challenge that Christine finds very rewarding. She also enjoys helping people understand the planning process and provisions so they can participate in determining the outcomes.
When working on large infrastructure projects, Christine has extensive experience leading the approval phases. This includes assessments of environmental effects, community consultation and hearings for projects such as structure plans for urban development, state highways, sewerage schemes and hydro electric power stations. Christine has also led the preparation of several district plan reviews and plan change processes.
According to Christine, working for Beca for over twenty years has been easy because "there is never a dull moment." She feels the variety of projects and opportunity to work with "very talented people" helps to create new challenges for further development.
Christine is the NZPI representative trustee on the Tauranga Environment Centre, a non-advocacy charitable trust providing free education and advice.
