Tony McKee - Director, Project Management

Tony McKee is Director of the Beca Project Management group in Singapore. A qualified structural engineer, Tony has over 15 years' experience in design management, risk management, constructability reviews and value engineering, as well project management and delivery.

Joining Beca as a graduate in 1995 Tony was a structural design engineer involved in a wide range of projects, leading eventually to his role as Resident Structural Engineer for the Macau Tower, completed in 2000. By this time Tony had overseas travel in mind, so spent the next three years gaining valuable experience in London. He returned to Beca in 2003 as Project Manager, just in time for the Auckland Airport expansion project to get underway. During this time Tony also worked on Auckland Showgrounds and Exhibition Centre expansion, and the Eden Park Stadium redevelopment.

Since taking up his current position, Tony has been heavily involved in the Marina Bay Sands complex in Singapore. Initially involved on the MICE Exhibition Centre as the Design Manager, he then moved on to become Senior Project Manager in charge of the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark team responsible for delivering the unique building. Tony’s structural engineering background, together with his strong leadership skills in leading multi-discipline design teams, was extremely valuable in what was technically and logistically a highly complex and high profile project.

Tony enjoys the variety and challenges of the projects he has worked on at Beca. "I thrive on the challenges of solving complex problems to bring about a successful design solution. Overseas travel has also been a plus, and it’s given me the opportunity of working with many renowned architects internationally."
