Technical Director - Environmental Engineering / New Zealand

Rob Fullerton

The Beca environment, with its diversity of projects, gives me a continuing opportunity to blend my science skills with practical engineering.
Rob Fullerton - Technical Director Environmental Engineering.

With over 35 years experience in the field, Rob understands the science behind wastewater treatment. He is particularly knowledgeable in laboratory and pilot studies of water and wastewater treatment processes.

Areas such as dynamic modelling of wastewater treatment processes, wastewater treatment plant design, commissioning, operation and trouble shooting and environmental monitoring are all in a days work for Rob.

Rob says technical challenges and finding solutions to unusual technical issues help him to keep up his enthusiasm for the job. As a Technical Director, Rob strives to inspire younger staff to approach technical challenges from both points of view – science and engineering.

The combination of a scientific background and a lifetime career in consulting engineering has enabled Rob to provide valuable scientific perspectives to engineering projects, particularly in the conceptual phase. “Scientists think differently to engineers,” he says, “and this can lead to synergistic approaches to projects, often resulting in innovative solutions to engineering challenges.”
