As a Hub Quality Manager in Beca’s Australian operation, Leon uses the business process improvement skills learned during his training and career to increase work efficiency and effectiveness.
His qualifications include an MBA, a Mechanical engineering degree and a post graduate diploma in quality management. He also holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certificate by the American Society for Quality and is a RAB-QSA certified Quality Management System (QMS) Auditor.
One of the challenges Leon faces is to ensure new staff are accustomed to using QMS documentation. The tremendous growth of Beca’s Australian office over the last two years means that Leon has had the opportunity to develop new initiatives in QMS such as creating Work Flow documentation, training programs and monthly inductions. Leon sees Information Technology as being the most effective way to convey QMS.
Leon enjoys Beca’s friendly and cooperative work environment and believes that employee buy-in, along with Beca’s strong management commitment to quality, means the QMS will continue to improve.
