“Over the years, Beca has built a solid foundation of experience across a number of disciplines. It’s great to work on multi discipline teams where design management is understood and appreciated”
Jeff has been a senior architect at Beca since joining the team in 2005. He is involved in all facets of design for a range of different building types. Jeff has special competency in site analysis, master planning, concept design and detailed development, as well as heritage building adaptive re-use and sketching and rendering.
Jeff has seen the Beca Architects team go from strength to strength during the last few years. “We address a range of sectors, allowing everyone the opportunity to be involved in projects which best suit their skill sets and personalities,” he says. “This approach enables our team to effectively deliver concepts and designs that strive to exceed our client’s expectations.”
Jeff has had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including police stations, new Marshall Island school library blocks, a geothermal power station and a remote outdoor education campus at St Cuthbert’s College in Auckland.
Jeff says his most interesting experience to date has been his involvement with planning a programme of works to consolidate New Zealand Air Force operations at RNZAF Base Ohakea. As Lead Architect, Jeff was involved with the planning and design of a facility to accomodate new helicopters now on order to replace the RNZAF's existing helicopter fleet. A shared interest in aviation made liaising with the RNZAF personnel easy, and Jeff enjoyed working with them with the aim to translate their requirements into a pleasing and workable design.
