As a Senior Project Manager, Scott is responsible for the procurement of engineering services for Beca clients. This involves understanding the clients’ drivers, briefs and requirements in terms of building and procurement, and delivering through contracts, suppliers, contractors and the design team.
Scott has been with the Project Management team for nearly three years and has worked on a number of projects at Auckland Airport. The most significant to date has been the new Pier B International Terminal Building. As the Project Manager, Scott managed the design team, taking an advanced concept, doing all the procurement and seeing the project right through to the end of the construction phase.
Scott enjoys the opportunities Beca extends to employees. “Going straight into the airport environment with Beca has been fantastic because it’s so unique and something that I wasn’t exposed to throughout my construction life”, he says.
Although from an architectural background, Scott believes he made the right move from the construction industry to project management. The introduction to larger projects with Beca has been beneficial for his career; something he believes other firms may not be able to offer.
