"I find it very rewarding working closely with our clients - it allows a greater insight into their business and assists in building creative solutions together."
Andrew is a Project Director with an extensive background in mechanical engineering for Beca Carter Hollings & Ferner and Beca AMEC. His main area of responsibility is heavy industrial operations in New Caledonia. Until recently Andrew led Beca AMEC’s Auckland office as section manager.
Some of his most significant projects include various upgrades and re-builds for New Zealand Steel’s Glenbrook mill. He also has international experience, having worked as mechanical and electrical engineer for IBM Ltd Marketing Centre in London, as project engineer for Delkor Pty Ltd in Sydney, and doing a number of overseas assignments in a variety of roles with Beca and Beca AMEC.
Andrew compares working at Beca to working with a huge sales team who are always alert to opportunities to bring fresh solutions to engineering challenges. Andrew enjoys the people-oriented nature of Beca, and thrives in an environment where long-term relationships with clients as well as colleagues are nurtured.
Andrew believes Beca’s involvement in many diverse markets make the company a preferred choice for many graduates. Apart from the satisfaction of delivering on large projects, he enjoys giving young people opportunities to develop their skills and responsibilities in engineering.
