"We go to great lengths to understand our client’s business, no matter where in the world they might be."
Pat takes personal pride from the synergy between Beca and AMEC that has become the longest standing partnership Beca has held with another company.
As General Manager of Beca AMEC Limited, Pat manages all Beca AMEC operations in New Zealand and Australia, with a primary focus on Forest Industries. Finding the right people for a project that could be anywhere around the world takes up a large amount of Pat's time.
Pat is also a senior executive in the Beca Group, currently acting as Business Director for the Industrial group.
With a technical chemical engineering background, Pat enjoys the practical side of engineering. "We're happiest when we're out in the field or on the construction site," he says. His 'hands-on' interest grew from spending the first 17 years of his career in a production role at Kinleith Pulp and Paper Mill. Since joining Beca in 1984, Pat has progressed through engineering management to company and corporate management before landing his current role as Business Director for the Industrial group.
The most significant project that Pat has been involved with was the challenging, yet rewarding, Kinleith Pulpmill Modernisation Project. As Project Engineering Manager, Pat was responsible for the capital development modifications; overseeing an Auckland-based engineering task force which peaked at 175 people.
Pat sees the flexibility of Beca AMEC engineers as an important differentiator in the drive for sustained success in executing clients' projects.
