The alignment of personal interest and field of work made for an enjoyable entry into the workforce for Zhi Wei. His keen interest in civil engineering has seen him tackle a number of challenges and gain new skills and knowledge from people within and outside of Beca.
Having only been on the job for three months, Zhi Wei found himself working on multiple projects which required extensive liaison with clients, architects and other engineers as well as guiding project design and reviews. One of these projects was the checking of a Neste Oil industrial project involving the construction of several large scale steel structures.
Culture was an important factor for Zhi Wei in choosing to join Beca. “The benefits and privileges offered to employees, friendly colleagues, flexible working hours and harmonious relations between superiors and subordinates all contribute to Beca being a great place for graduates like me,” he says.
Zhi Wei hopes to one day be involved in an iconic building that will leave an impression for generations to come. “Beca’s well-known reputation and cross-cultural project work will no doubt help me to achieve this,” he says.
