Beca’s Tauranga office occupies a prime spot in the heart of a vibrant city, and offers the career opportunities of a large and highly respected organisation.
Our 170 engineers, designers, planners and project managers engage in structural and civil engineering, planning, architecture, infrastructure, industrial processes including pulp & paper and chemical, industrial electrical, building services, environmental & geotechnical services and cost & project management. With projects spanning disciplines and borders, our people have opportunities to gain diverse experience and to travel to places like Indonesia, Dubai, Australia, Samoa and the Marshall Islands.
Recent local projects include project managing the second Tauranga Harbour Bridge, providing engineering services for the Papamoa Library, geotechnical reviews of local reservoirs, architectural and engineering designs for new multi-storey office developments, strategic local road planning, planning for business parks, master planning in consultation with local Iwi and ongoing capital and maintenance projects at pulp & paper and chemical plants.
Overseas, we have designed and provided the building services for schools and a hospital in the Marshall Islands, been involved in metal processing plans in New Caledonia and Indonesia and provided coastal management planning in Samoa and Iran.
The Tauranga team takes a professional approach to their work, yet the office environment is relaxed. Our experienced people - some world renowned - are approachable and happy to mentor graduates. As a regional office, our people get involved in a wider range of projects, providing greater responsibility and more client contact. In-house training provides continuing education, and numerous professional associations open up excellent networking opportunities.
Outside the office, the social club organises sports teams, ski trips, sailing and social events. Tauranga's harbour and beaches explode with watersports, and proximity to Rotorua, Lake Taupo and Mt Ruapehu offers outstanding fishing, skiing, hiking and biking. The nightlife thrives, and there’s a buzzing café scene and annual events like ‘Blues, Brews and BBQs’ and a jazz festival.
