Brisbane, capital of Queensland (the Sunshine State), is Australia's third largest city (1.77 million people) and the centre of the second fastest growing region in the western world.
Brisbane is a subtropical river city renowned for an almost idyllic year-round climate with hot, humid summers and dry mild winters.
Beca's Brisbane office is located on the river at Milton, some 1.5 km from the CBD, and is still in its infancy, having commenced operations in mid-2004. The office is ideally located on the western fringe of the city with excellent road access and is well-serviced by trains (stations at Auchenflower and Milton are an easy walk), ferries (the Regatta stop is a pleasant walk alongside the river) and buses (there is a stop immediately outside the building).
With a current staffing of 11, the office has a close-knit feel. The team covers a broad range of technical skills including project management, planning, environmental engineering, building services, water engineering and business management. These skills are currently applied to an equally diverse range of market sectors including dairy factories, meat processing, brewing, highway lighting, water re-use projects, water supply pipelines, mining, metals processing and civic buildings. Recent projects have seen the team develop relationships with some of Queensland's most recognisable clients.
Each Beca office not only offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects, but also has a culture that is unique to its region.
