An electrical design engineer, Keith has been with Beca for 14 years, working on a broad range of projects in different market sectors in many countries. Keith spent the first six years of his career with the Auckland Building Services team before joining the Industrial Electrical team. He then spent a number of years working in Singapore on a significant infrastructure project, and, most recently, Keith led the growth of the Beca Power engineering team in Melbourne where he has been based for three years.
The key advantage Keith has experienced working for Beca has been the solid technical base he has developed working across a number of complex engineering projects. He feels this has provided a solid foundation for tackling projects of larger scale and complexity.
The most significant technical and project delivery challenge was his role of Chief Electrical Engineer on Singapore's SGD3B+ Changi Water Reclamation Plant, built for Singapore's Public Utilities Board. Among the largest water reclamation plants in the world, the project presented constant technical and organizational challenges which Keith believes had a "profoundly positive" effect on his personal and professional development.
International opportunities have allowed Keith to step outside his comfort zone, to experience cultural and communication challenges and to work within different technical expectations and design delivery.
