Hotels and Leisure

Beca aims to design quality facilities that provide a great guest experience and efficient staff working environment.

Hotels and Leisure.

Operating 24 hours a day, hotels need engineering systems that provide a reliable, comfortable and safe environment that are easy to maintain and energy efficient.

Increasingly, hotel and leisure developments are geared towards the technologically savvy, well-travelled and environmentally aware consumer. In the luxury markets in particular, hotel guests expect an 'at home' experience that includes the latest in communication technology as well retail and entertainment facilities.

This trend has led to complex, multifaceted buildings calling for specialised engineering skills and knowledge. Beca has an appreciation of the needs of hoteliers and developers, working closely with them for effective outcomes that balance the needs of both, while striving to optimise guest satisfaction and meet construction and operational budget.

At Beca we understand that hotel and leisure design must be tailored to meet local construction techniques. We have developed a design methodology for the hotel sector adopted by many of our clients as a benchmark for decision making and communication. This process aims at clear, 'no surprises' design and construction.

Our extensive range of engineering disciplines has been applied to hotel and leisure projects in New Zealand, South East Asia and China, from small boutique establishments, to expansive resorts and high-rise inner city business hotels in mixed use complexes.

Major hoteliers we have worked with include Ritz-Carlton, Sheraton, Hilton, Marriott, Kempinski, Conrad, Park Lane, Intercontinental and Sky City; and we have worked with numerous hotel developers.

The Beca team is committed to providing designs that aim to future proof the building systems while incorporating ESD principles such as energy reclamation, solar capture and passive cooling where possible.
